However, what distinguishes Tabaco College Graduate programs is the seminar-style strategy where a lecture-discussion and brainstorming is done in a daylong (10 hours) lively interaction, critical and constructive comments of issues on various topics reflected in syllabus. These brainstorming, added by the resource speakers aside from the main or faculty speaker lead to the fine-tuning of a research topic and finally a finished masters thesis or doctoral dissertations.
The seminar style strategy works out best with the working professional since he is given a free reign or control of his research and study time frame. In such a time-scheme the student’s creativity is more enhanced because of less time constraint and the wide latitude given to research writing.
Dr. Antonio Z. Biglaen, founder and president of Tabaco College, with the present Dean of the graduate school, Dr. Adelfa F. Conda, conceived and supported, respectively his quite innovative scheme, which is a researcher-friendly. For the president and founder such a strategy could promote scholarly research writing and also develop leadership qualities not just in the workplace but in the various sectors of the community: health, agriculture, business, education, environment, among others. All these qualities in scholarship and leadership aspects at the same time are part and parcel of the strong advocacy of Tabaco College, both Graduate and graduate levels on corporate social responsibility. These are all reflected in the community and extension services, outreach programs as well as in its research agenda or portfolio.
